The Festival
Rann Utsav began as a modest three-day cultural gathering conceived to showcase the remotest frontier of Gujarat. Over the years it has grown into a hundred-day township of premium tents and suites, drawing travellers from across India and abroad to witness the Great Rann of Kutch at its most luminous.
The white salt desert, often called the Moonland of Gujarat, dries into a mirror-like expanse each winter. By day it shimmers under the sun; by night, especially around the full moon, it turns silver bright enough to walk across without a torch. Rann Utsav exists to put visitors inside that transformation — front-row to folk rhythms, craft traditions, and a landscape unlike anywhere else in the country.
What Awaits
From moonlit folk performances to caravan-trail safaris, each experience is built around the rhythm of the Rann — quiet by day, radiant by night.

Got Questions?
No, but our shortest package is 1 Night / 2 Days. Most guests find 2 Nights / 3 Days gives enough time to see both a sunrise and sunset on the Rann plus a day of sightseeing.
Advance booking is strongly recommended, especially for full-moon weekends and the Christmas–New Year period, which sell out weeks ahead. Walk-in tent availability, when it exists, cannot be guaranteed.
Day-visitor entry to the White Rann viewing area is possible, but the cultural amphitheatre, craft bazaar, and evening programming are part of the Tent City experience and best accessed by guests staying on-site.
Pets are not permitted within the Tent City for the comfort and safety of all guests and the surrounding wildlife.
The 2026–27 season runs from 1st November 2026 to 7th March 2027, with peak full-moon weekends around late November, late December, late January, and mid-February. See our Special Dates calendar for the exact list.
Yes, self-drive and private cabs are permitted. On-site parking is available near the Tent City entrance, though note that vehicles cannot be driven onto the salt flats themselves.
